Museum Quilt Show

Information about the Museum Quilt Show from Janet Haas:
The show is at the  Guy Woodward Museum. At 645 Main Street; The Dates are March 28 - 31 and April 4 - 7 from 1pm to 4pm each day. The cost is $5 which includes tours. Anyone helping out only needs to pay once I am not sure if the museum will be open on Easter Sunday. The idea of the show is to show contemporary versions of old quilts.

Any BCQ who would like to enter a small quilt or quilted item (bag, table runner, place mat, etc) needs to get it to Janet or Candy on or before Wednesday, March 20th.  We will need many members to volunteer a couple of hours each to sell tickets for our opportunity quilt at the show.  I have lived in Ramona 34 years and have sadly never toured the Guy Woodward Museum-I am looking forward to finally doing it!

This is a wonderful opportunity for our club to showcase the amazing work that our ladies can do!

On another note-Make sure to get out to our Wednesday night meeting at the Crazy 9 Patch.  The 2014 opportunity quilt pattern has been chosen (the reveal will be on Wed.) and we will need volunteers to complete it before the end of the year and someone to oversee the construction of it.  Be thinking about your part in  making the quilt and/or in the 2013 quilt show.  Martha has generously offered to donate the fabric for the top. Thank-you to the almost 30 of you who voted for the quilt pattern!

This month's demo is being done by Ida who will show us how to make those popular minky scarves-don't miss it.  Also, sharing by the club members and a green treat of some sort.  Bring a name tag, your smile, something to share (quilt, etc.), and a postcard to exchange (if you would like).

A Reminder:  We are a social club and not a guild, so there are no dues and consequently no name speakers, but for a little social club-there is a lot going on.  The BCQ's put on one of the best quilt shows in the county which gives the proceeds to charitable organizations in Ramona, they do a lot of volunteer work such as cool ties for servicemen, placemats for seniors, and several other things during the year.  All of these activities are done by volunteers. There are guest BCQ's doing a demo every month.  Please consider where you would like to volunteer a couple of hours a month.  If you haven't been to any of the meetings in awhile-please come back.

Have A Fabulous St. Patrick's Day!!
